Luksenberg Medical Travel operates from the offices of the parent company, Luksenberg Tours, in Bnei Brak, Israel. Luksenberg Tours was established in 1971 by Mr. Moshe Luksenberg, of blessed memory. The Company possesses licenses issued by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), as well as a license from the Israeli Ministry of Tourism.
In 1989, Rabbi Elimelech Fierer, the founder and CEO of Ezra L'marpe, a voluntary organization devoted to the proper treatment and well-being of those facing serious medical problems, and his staff, approached Mr. Luksenberg's son, Michael, who eventually took over the Company, with a special request to fly a patient for a Heart-Lung transplantation to UCLA Hospital in Los Angeles. Since then the medical-travel department at Luksenberg Tours has dealt with hundreds of passengers forced to travel abroad for medical treatment. As a result of such increased activity, this department was later separated from the parent company and became an independent entity - Luksenberg Medical Travel - under the management of Michael Luksenberg.
Luksenberg Medical Travel has gained the full recognition of El Al Israel Airlines and serves as its exclusive licensed wholesaler in the field of medical travel, with the aim of providing such service to the general public as well as to travel agents in Israel and worldwide.
